Book summary: La Bicyclette bleue (The Blue Bicycle)


The book is set at the start of the second world war in France and talks of Lea. Lea is struggling with coming to terms with laurents marriage- the man she loves. Amongst her struggle to regain her family home Montillac she encounters a man who reveals the pleasure of love meking. The story is of Lea and Camille travelling through war ridden France encountering many horrific sites. Even once they reach Montillac their stuggle carries on with the hardships of rationning and acting as go betweens for the resistance. this is a moving tale which leads you into the story, so you are living the tale walking down the same streets you know Lea. It makes you reach for the next book in the series '101, avenue Henri-Martin'.
