Sophie Kinsella: Biography

Sophie Kinsella

12 dec 1969

Sophie Kinsella (Madeleine Sophie Wickham (nee Townley)) is an English author of popular chick lit. Sophie started her writing career as Madeleine, but when she came up with the idea for the Shopaholic books, she felt it was so different from her previous work, that she had to write under a synonym. Who would have known that Sophie Kinsella became such a huge success?

Sophie Kinsella has a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. But maybe her career was already sealed one Christmas morning, when she was seven years old and she found Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in her stocking. Then she knew she were in for a lifelong love affair with books. Sophie Kinsella has three children and lives in Hertfordshire with her husband, Henry Wickham.

Needless to say that her books are very popular and the first two Shopaholic books have already been adapted for film.
